How to Save on Gas
1. Do regular maintenance, cars that are tuned up use less gas.
2. Consider purchasing an electronic navigator to spend less time finding your way around, particularly if you travel frequently. Navigators can also be set up to display the shortest route to get to your destination.
3. Avoid traveling at high speed with your windows opened as this can cause your vehicle to use more fuel.
4. Avoid long idol periods, turn off the car when parked, don’t spend a long time warming up your vehicle, especially if it’s new, as newer engines are designed to run well in the cold.
5. Avoid stop and go traffic if at all possible.

7. Reving the engine and accelerating fast is a waste of gas.
8. There is no need to buy the most expensive grade of gas, most engines are designed to run on regular fuel. Check your owners manual or consult with your mechanic to be certain if you are unsure.
9. Accelerate slowly
10. Research car pools available in your local area, consider starting a sign up sheet at your office to organize your own car pool if one is not available.
11. Check out options for Park and Ride and take the city bus part of the way to work
12. Ride a bike or walk when it’s feasible
13. Wait until gas prices are lower to fill your tank
